1940s and 1950s Crate Label Art

Produce crate labels were a frequent means of marketing fruit and vegetable packer brands at the turn of the century. Crates with the colorful labels attached would be displayed at farmer markets across the United States.  Below is a collection of mostly 1940s and 1950s vintage crate label art from (mostly) California growers and distributors.
