Friendship Day

Friends who are like family, good friends, animal friends, online friends, and even frenemies are cherished on International Day of Friendship! The Friendship tartan was designed to celebrate friendship, connectivity and togetherness. Colours: white represents peace; orange represents positivity and determination; purple represents wisdom, dignity and devotion and pink represents compassion, kindness and hope. 🤝 🐶 🐱 🐹
The concept of a Friendship Day was originally founded by the Hallmark Card company in 1919. It was intended to be a day for people to celebrate their friendship by sending each other cards, but by 1940 the market had dried up, and eventually, it died out completely.
However, in 1998 Winnie the Pooh was named the world’s Ambassador of Friendship at the United Nations, and in April 2011, the United Nations officially recognized the 30th July as International Friendship Day; although many countries celebrate a national friendship day on the first Sunday of August!
